The Campmaster's Page

This page is about my activities and interests, Scouting and otherwise.
If we share an interest please feel free to drop me a note.

Scoutmaster contemplation  Troop 39My current tenure as an adult Scouter started in about 1985. I started in Tiger Cubs with my son, progressed through Den helper, Assistant  Webelos Den Leader, and finally to Scoutmaster for Troop 39 in Cannon Falls, MN for 7 years or so.  I recently retired from that position, remaining as Troop Committee member. I am also serving as Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner, as well as teaching various adult and scout leader sessions.

I began Scouting as a Boy Scout in Troop 93 (now Troop 55) in Spring Valley, Minnesota, and had the good fortune to begin scouting under Scoutmaster Dave Moore. I became an Eagle Scout in 1964, was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Blue Ox Lodge, and was on the staff of Camp Hok-Si-La in Lake City, MN. The high point of my scouting memories was a 10-day canoe trip to Sommers Canoe Base and the Boundary Waters in 1965, back before it had initials, or official status, and was truly still a wilderness.
